The cops confer
below while the last of the
protesters above wait to be carried off the
roof of the Hunnicutt House. This magnificent
building, home for many years to anarchists
and entomologists, was torn down to make
way for a church parking lot. Soon after
this, Austin passed a historic zoing ordinance,
preserving the few remaining grand buildings.
Years later, I came across members of this
same church; they were building a house for
Habitat for Humanity. That was good to see.
