Other Recent Design Projects
First and Central Presbyterian Church, Wilmington, Delaware - They already had the clean logo. I built the splash page for the website (seen above) around the logo and then used those same colors for the rest of the website. [January 2009]
Johnny DeFrancesco, Guitarist. The newest Vectordisc recording artist. When Johnny plays with his Power Trio, they sound something like Stevie Ray Vaughn but more aggressive and less introspective.
Literacy Volunteers Serving Adults improves people's literacy skills through free, student-oriented, one-to-one and group instruction in basic reading and conversational English.
The Addiction Research Institute at The University of Texas at Austin. The template of this website, that I designed five years ago, was updated using Cascading Style Sheets and XHTML. I still like my design of the logo. This is another clever client that maintains their own website.
Episcopal Church of the Ascension: They had just painted their sanctuary bright yellow with dark blue and red trim. I photographed it and used the colors, and some of the architectural details, in the design. This clever client maintains their website themselves.
Wilmington Housing Authority: A local provider of public and low-income housing.
Barn Yard Sheds in Lancaster County, PA: re-design and update of website. Usually I work with churches, non-profits and artists. Designing websites for the Amish? Something new for me! Barn Yard Sheds manufactures utility sheds, garden buildings, cabins, recreational park trailers, garages, play houses, pool houses, dog kennels, and run-in sheds for horses. They also offer temporary portable sheds if you are moving or remodeling.
Sparx Flute-Harp Duo - Flutist Joan Sparks and harpist Anne Sullivan have attained distinction for their desire “to bring their music to all people” in and around Wilmington, Delaware.
Moment: rarescale plays David Bennett Thomas. Carla Rees designed the cover of this CD, I did the rest. Like me, Carla is a jack of all trades. Besides the photography and design seen here, she formed the rarescale ensemble in England in 2003 and is their principle flutist. This is my second project with composer David Bennett Thomas, who teaches at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and who enjoys a busy life as a jazz pianist.
Wilmington Children's Chorus: a new Splash page advertising their Holiday Candlelight Concert. The design is actually by the Chorus Manager, Phil Doucette, who sent me the photo and text. All I had to do was make it real, that is to say, virtual. [December 2008]
Episcopal Diocese of Delaware: Re-design and continued maintenance of a website. With 39 places of worship, several schools, and many ministries, the challenge was to make all that information accessible from the home page and still keep it attractive.
